Wind generated electricity is an environmentally friendly energy resource; there are currently 78 windmills in operation in Rokkasho.
　The disadvantage of wind power plants has traditionally been the instability of energy output due to variable weather conditions. To overcome this, in a first for Japan, 34 commercial energy windmills will be built that incorporate battery storage capabilities. The windmills spread majestically across the landscape, the tips of their blades rising 100 meters in the air.
