The lakes, mountains, and the Pacific Ocean offer many opportunities to enjoy nature around Rokkasho. Furthermore, there are many sports facilities to take advantage of. Recreational activities include tennis, golf, swimming, baseball, fishing, hiking, and bird-watching to name a few.
 Neighboring municipalities have ski slopes and ice rinks to enjoy a multitude of winter sports. Rokkasho also has an ongoing program of developing facilities to meet a variety of community needs.

 Rokkasho has three onsen (hot spring) facilities.
 Onsen are a wonderful place to relax and soak away daily stresses . “Rokkasho Onsen” is known as the deepest hot spring in Japan, with the source of the water coming from 2714metres below ground. The Eldery People’s Welfare Center has an Onsen that is high in salt and iron content, to the extent that white towels change color to brown due to oxidization. “Spa House Rokka Pokka” is a complex with many varieties of baths, as well as karaoke rooms, massage rooms, a restaurant, and a banquet hall.
